Where are vacuum and/or low Pressure pneumatic conveying systems employed?
The pneumatic conveying of bulk goods is a proven and efficient method for transporting dusts, powders, granulates and other fluidizable materials quickly and reliably within a production site. Differentiation is made between pneumatic suction conveying and pneumatic low Pressure conveying – that is, conveying with vacuum or low overpressure.

Pneumatic suction conveying is always used when sensitive materials require transportation without contacting the ambient air. Pneumatic suction conveyor systems are primarily used in the food industry, in the plastics processing industry for transporting granulates, and in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Pneumatic low Pressure conveying, on the other hand, is used for relatively heavy materials such as sand, gravel and cement.

It is also possible to transport high-volume and moist materials using vacuum conveyors, for example in the disposal of wet waste or the transportation of bark mulch.

Which Hokaido series are particularly suitable for pneumatic conveying applications?
RC claw vacuum pumps, which use the claw technology principle, represent the most economical, reliable and clean solution available for the pneumatic suction conveying of sensitive materials. The extracted air is compressed without operating fluids and runs virtually maintenance-free.

The pumping speeds and vacuum levels used in suction conveying systems are determined by various factors including transportation speed, material characteristics, conveyor line length and pipe diameters.
In addition to the RC claw vacuum pumps, the proven RH rotary vane vacuum pumps are also used whenever higher vacuum levels are required. If materials are to be transported in relatively large volume, the first choice would be 2HB&4HB side channel regenerative blowers.

Hokaido vacuum systems are specifically designed for large or complex conveyor systems and include separation units and control systems as required.
